1,000 Hits - And Then Some!

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 29, 2007, 10:43 AM
It may not seem that big of a deal, especially for my gallery having been up almost two years, but I think it's totally mind-blowing that I've had over 1,000 hits to my gallery here. I knew I was close, and began trying to motivate myself to draw something to commemorate it. A lot of artists tend to do that for every milestone they hit. There were two failed drawings - actual drawings - that just didn't want to come out as perfect as I wanted them to. So they were scrapped and I resorted to what seems to be the most liked of what I've done on here, and that's a comic. What I had been trying to do was a school day pic of Sora, Riku, and Kairi (from Kingdom Hearts). So, it got transfered over to comic form and I took "hits" a little too literally. Poor Sora <3

I also scanned and uploaded a drawing I did 4 years ago of the Marauders as chibis. Going through a lot of stuff a month or so ago, I finally found it again. It had been scanned and saved on my old computer, but it got lost amongst the file transfers and such. Now it is finally up again for all to see.

I'm hoping that if I just keep doodling, I'll get as good as my brain envisions. Until then, I make no promises XD Thanks for attention, though! I hope to keep it up!

Miracle Grow

It still amazes me how so many people seem to really like the "By the Way Riku" strip I made ages ago. It seems when I do art, I can only turn out a "gem" like that once every blue moon. Needless to say, I don't really sit down to draw anymore and when I do, it's usually a planned thing and then it doesn't turn out so well. Perhaps, though, I will post photos of some of the cosplay items I'm making for this year's costumes.

I actually have another KH strip-like thing almost completed but I put it down for so long, I no longer remember the last punchline I intended to write -_-; Hopefully I'll finish that soon. I'd also like to draw a little something to commemorate the fact that I nearly have 1,000 pageviews o_o My DA account is 1 1/2 years old ... maybe that's nothing special but for my humble art "skills" it's very flattering.

Thanks for looking! I hope to have some new stuff to post soon.

Finally!

Wow, I actually posted *art*. You have no idea how long I've been dying to do something like this, and my latest submission ("Fluffiku") was a suggestion by one of my best friends, ~randirien. I actually had wanted this done waay back in early December in time for her birthday, but RL had other plans. Now that I'm out of school and still working part-time, as long as my muse will let me, I plan to keep trying to bring out all the ideas that have been bouncing in my head.

Now if I can only remember them all.

"By the way, Riku ..." continues to promote comments and favs, and I'm completely blown away by them. It's always nice, as an artist, to be told "I like it a lot!" When my crack kicks back in (XD ... not the drug, mind) I'll see about putting out another one.

Thanks for viewing my little, sometimes pathetic, gallery! Here's to more art!

Free Time Soon

"By the way, Riku ..." continues to be pretty well received, and I take that as a huge compliment since I did that back in April or so. It makes me really anxious to get drawing again, and draw some good stuff, too. I want to try things, and I think exercising that part of my creativity will help my writing, too. I graduate in one week, and I plan to use whatever free time I can gain when not at my job catching up on all the stuff school and a job has kept me from (i.e. drawing). So, my little "portfolio" on here won't be so ... pathetic for long (I hope).

Skills Wanted

Wow, "By the way, Riku ..." is fairly, dare I say it, popular? I hate to brag, but I'm pretty damn pleased with the drawings in that one. It seems like I always draw best when I randomly sit down to draw something. If I sit down with a purpose, nothing comes out and it all looks like crap.

Like one drawing I tried the other day. My God, it deserves to be incinerated.

My soul aches for a tablet, but alas, that is one luxury I cannot afford. You can get a good one for around $100 or so ... but one needs $100 or so to get it. CG coloring with a mouse is *not fun* and time consuming leik whoa.

Why is it I only want to do art when i don't have the time to do it? I want to fill my gallery here with stuff more worthwhile T_T

Oh well. And nearly 500 page views! I should ... draw something to celebrate. XD
